Eurtton Distribution Inc. was born from a simple idea, a great deal of determination, and a willingness to figure things out as we went.
In 1998, nearly 30 years ago, Richard and Catherine Mayne incorporated Eurtton Distribution with nothing more than a belief that there was an opportunity to export quality goods from Canada and the United States to Bermuda. There was no distribution network, no product lineup, and no roadmap. In fact, we didn’t even know how to move products from point A to point B, let alone across borders and overseas. What we did have was a story, a lot of promises, and the persistence to keep knocking on doors.
Richard reached out to manufacturers of all kinds, sharing the vision and building trust one relationship at a time. Slowly, product by product, crate by crate, the business began to take shape. What started small grew steadily into full container loads, and before long, Eurtton Distribution was consistently shipping one to two ocean containers every week, nearly 100 containers annually, supplying Bermudian homes with quality products sourced directly from factories and distributors.
As the company grew, so did the family’s involvement. When our children, Dan and Jordan, were young teenagers, they pitched in wherever they could, learning the business from the ground up. Once they were old enough to be formally employed, they joined the company full-time, and we never looked back. Today, with Dan’s wife Stacy also part of the team, Eurtton Distribution has truly become, and remains, a family business in every sense of the word.
Innovation has always been part of who we are.
In 2003, while working closely with manufacturers and builders, we identified a persistent challenge in the construction industry, particularly in masonry applications where traditional window framing materials were prone to moisture damage and failure. In response, we designed and introduced a 2 x 6 Solid PVC Masonry Subframe, specifically engineered for PVC window installation.
It was a simple idea with a big purpose: to provide builders with a durable, moisture-resistant, and reliable solution where conventional materials fell short. We invested in the tooling required for custom extrusion and took the product to market ourselves, manufacturing and shipping the frames to Bermuda, where they quickly proved their value in real-world conditions.
What began as a single, problem-solving product became a long-standing solution. For more than two decades, we have continued to manufacture and export this masonry subframe, refining a product that builders came to trust for its performance and longevity. Today, that same product stands as a testament to its design and durability. Our PVC Masonry Subframe has been incorporated into the manufacturing program of CertainTeed Canada Inc., the Canadian arm of North America’s leading building materials brand and a subsidiary of global construction leader Saint-Gobain. Headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, CertainTeed serves residential and commercial markets across Canada with innovative, high-performance, and sustainable building solutions.
Over the years, we also partnered with everyone from small importers to major multi-million-dollar corporations. Our supplier relationships included respected names such as Kitchen Craft Cabinetry, Forevermark, Miralis Cabinetry, Simmons Beautyrest and King Koil mattresses, Ashley Furniture, Palliser Furniture, Superstyle Upholstery, Trendline, Ply-Gem Windows—one of North America’s largest window manufacturers, as well as major appliance brands like Samsung and Frigidaire in the U.S., Vaughn-Bassett, and countless others.
By 2013, after years of sustained growth and success, we were approached by a larger company interested in acquiring our distribution operation. Recognizing it as a significant opportunity, we made the decision to sell the business, while proudly retaining the Eurtton name. That pivotal moment marked the beginning of the next chapter in our journey.
We launched a kitchen cabinet distribution company with a bold and unconventional approach: a fully equipped mobile showroom. We traveled directly to customers’ homes with displays, samples, computers, and design tools, all powered by solar panels. Demand quickly validated the concept, and growth followed naturally.
From a mobile showroom, we expanded into a small showroom on Bath Road, supported by a workshop on Division Street. We soon outgrew those spaces and moved into our current location, featuring larger showrooms, offices, workshops, and warehouse facilities, supported by a dedicated team of 10 staff members.
Today, Eurtton Distribution has evolved into a full-service kitchen and bath company. We offer both stock and custom kitchen solutions, along with our proprietary SurfaceCRAFT™ Quartz Countertop Division, designed to bridge the gap between laminate and traditional quartz, delivering exceptional value without compromising quality. We also provide a wide selection of backsplash tile, complete with professional installation services.
Staying true to our roots, we have expanded back into exports, once again shipping kitchen and bath cabinetry, closets, and SurfaceCRAFT™ countertops to Bermuda on a regular basis.
From a single idea to international shipping, from a family dream to a thriving multi-division operation, our story has always been about growth, relationships, and finding solutions where none existed before. Nearly three decades later, that same spirit continues to guide everything we do.
